No News is Good News?

It has been said that silence can be deafening. The Metaverse has experienced a slowdown in activity of late, leading to some long periods of silence. There is an old adage that "no news is good news", but in the news business, the adage goes "no news means nothing to do". Though not much is being said in conversations, there are a few things going on that are newsworthy.

There has been a slight increase in recruitment activity lately, probably due to the release of Galactic Civilizations in Europe and the release of the Expansion Pack on September 16th. The overlords that are being recruited seem to have some interest in joining empires, and this is a good thing. For those "orphan" overlords who are reading this, the Metaverse Review strongly suggests you investigate empiring further. It greatly increases the interest level in the game and is a good way to make many new friends! Please note that the staff of the Metaverse Review does not endorse any empire in particular, as this is an impartial news agency.

The Mid-Western Confederation empire gained an overlord today, as Mayito7777 decided to leave the CDG Creations League. When asked for comment, Mayito7777 replied, "I want to share the same desire that I have for the game with others, but joining the top 2 teams is kind out of the questions I don't want to take sides so I let the war going and watch it from the sidelines." The inclusion of Mayito7777 gives the MWC a 301,500 point lead over 4th place Canadian Star Federation. It also brings the MWC a bit closer to G.R.O.S.S. Empire. The loss of Mayito7777 dropped CDG Creations to 12th, and in danger of being overtaken by Space Arachnids.

In other empire news, New Texas Republic has made a sudden surge as recruitment brought them up to 14th in the Metaverse. There seems to be about five active overlords in New Texas Republic. It also appears to be a leaderless empire, as Emperor SlapBone hasn't been seen since April. However, these intrepid overlords fight on for the glory of Texas! They are only about 2,000 points behind the Space Arachnids.

In case you haven't seen it, there is a great comic strip dedicated to Galactic Civilizations and the Metaverse. Yep, we're leaderless in Texas.... that's cuz we got rid of bush and sent him packing to D.C. a few years back... and the Democrats are busy "out of state"... hehe..

Seriously... I had noticed the lack of leader, but figured I might as well honour the Lone Star
