In empire news, the Jedi Republic was shaken after the departure of one of their leading overlords, Alex Ascendent. Feeling the call of Roman Imperialism, Alex shed his Jedi garb for the more miltaristic garments of a Roman Centurion and started a new empire named The Centurions. Emperor Primipilus Alexus, as he is now known, has mandated an Invite only empire consisting only of those who are of Veteran status or above or who have played 100 or more games. These rules are some of the most strict to be seen in the Metaverse and follow a growing movement in the Metaverse of creating specialized membership empires. While other empires have been specializing in alignment qualifications, this seems to be the first empire created for those overlords recognized by Stardock for their contributions to the Metaverse. The Metaverse Review wishes the best of luck to Primipilus Alexus in his new endeavour.

The Jedi Republic had just retaken 4th place before Primipilus Alexus' departure but now find themselves back in 5th. Reports from the Republic seem to indicate the Jedi are more determined than ever to fight for territory. Through recruitment and the continued efforts of warriors such as Mayito7777, who has broken all records in his number of games played, and Darth Kryo, the Jedi Republic should not worry for their future.

Heated battle continues between the Evil Empire and G.R.O.S.S. These two empires are slugging it out for possession of seventh place. Currently, Evil Empire holds that spot but the pirates are just a few thousand points behind. Also looking to enter the fray, Realms Beyond is now fighting the pirates for eighth place. This battle seems to be the fiercest being waged in the Metaverse at this time.

Among the other battles going on, the Republic of Aldar slipped past aging Apolyton for 11th place. Emperor Aldar recently announced his plan for a government change for the new year. If all goes as planned, the Republic of Aldar will convert to the Aldarian Empire on January 1st. This will lead them to declare yet another holiday. Reports from the Aldarians claim festivities will include drinking heavily and behaving badly, the usual conduct of Aldarians during holidays.

The European Alliance, having surpassed the 1000 battle mark, have been streaking towards second place Special Forces. The Euros have become extremely active recently and now consist of 136 members, the most of any empire! Congratulations to Emperor _G-Force_ for his fine leadership and motivational skills!

Following closely after the Euro's 1000 battles, the Fellowship of the Ring reached the milestone as well. Congratulations to the Ring bearers for their dedication, as well!

The Mid-Western Confederation has continued to churn out games recently and now stands in fourth place. Taking advantage of the Jedi turmoil, the MWC now has their eyes set on the surging Euros. The battle between the Jedi, MWC and Euros will surely be a tense one in the coming weeks.

Slipping into the 24th spot is a surprise empire. Anarchy United led by Droid5150 has jumped into the Top 25. Citizens of the Metaverse will surely watch this empire closely as it continues it's rise!
