The only constant in this world is constant change, and the Metaverse is no different. Like a living being, the Metaverse undergoes change almost constantly. Even when you think something will remain the same for a while, eventually all things must change.
The Metaverse was excited by the ascension of the ANZAC Republic's Cotal to first place in the individual standings. Her rise relegates former number one Ray the Wanderer to second place. Cotal's dedication and perserverance in playing Masochistic difficulty games have vaulted her to the top of the Metaverse. She also stands as the only overlord to be promoted to Fleet Admiral so far. The Metaverse Review would like to heartily congratulate Cotal on her outstanding accomplishments and wish her the best in her quest to remain the best of the best!
The pirates of G.R.O.S.S. also reached a milestone as they surpassed the two million point mark! Emperor PontiusBruinPilot and his band of bucanneers have returned from their travels and real life duties to blaze back into the fight against the current number one empire, the Fellowship of the Ring. Even though there are over 360,000 points separating the Fellowship from the alien-hating pirates, this reporter feels that the battles have just begun! The Fellowship's leader, Ray the Wanderer, is currently on a military quest and may be unable to mount a suitable defense during his absence. Reports from the Shire indicate some of Ray's lieutenants are readying the Fellowship for the coming battle.
Congratulations to the Jedi Republic as they surpassed the one million point mark! The Jedi have been very busy lately in their combat and are quickly approaching the Canadian Star Federation. Parties erupted all over Coruscant, the official Imperial capitol planet, and once again Torians were being slaughtered by Sith enthusiasts eager to celebrate the Jedi Republic's great achievement. Steady streams of transports began ferrying surviving Torians from the surface of Coruscant, only to be attacked by hundreds of X-Wing starfighters in orbit. A communique arrived from the Kentucky Fried Drengin Corporation requesting to take the Torian meat off of the Jedi Republic's hands. KFD Corp operates the highly successful Torian Sushi Bar chain and it is rumored to be headed by the infamous G.R.O.S.S. organization. Shares in KDF Corp rose sharply as supply of Torian flooded the markets.
The European Alliance is still in contention for the ANZAC Republic's fourth place spot as they have continued their battles. As it stands at this time, the Euros are only 100,000 points behind the overlords from Down Under. This has been one of the most hotly contested battles of the past several weeks and Emperors Bluesteel and G-Force have been spurring their warriors onward in hopes of final victory.
The Canadian Star Federation, also known to many as the Undead, have awakened as the Jedi Republic nears them for sixth place. Several new Canadians have been seen joining the ranks and preparing for battle. More on this as it develops!

The Weekly Spotlight Empire for this week is the Realms Beyond Empire, new to the Top 25 boards and gunning to rise.
This empire, who already boasts 8 overlords, has appeared out of nowhere to challenge some of the top empires in the Metaverse. So far, there has been few communications with this empire as they have not yet begun an Imperial thread, but it is hoped they will establish normal relations with many of the top empires soon so diplomatic ties can be established. If not, some empires may feel threatened and declare war. Some of history's most horrible wars have occurred due to this.
