The Jedi Republic has welcomed quite a few members lately and has improved to sixth place in the Metaverse, just ahead of the Canadian Star Federation. One major aquisition in particular is Mayito7777, who defected from the MWC. His disappearance has left MWC further back in their struggle to overtake G.R.O.S.S. for second, and has moved them further back in their quest for 2 million points. Realms Beyond is continuing to make noise in the Metaverse as the empire has taken 12th place. Their met...
Today, several members of the Fellowship of the Ring empire decided to have a little fun and drop the pirates of G.R.O.S.S. to fourth place in the Metaverse. With a little empire swapping, the pirates indeed dropped to fourth, but for a few moments, the MWC took on first place again! After the above snapshot was taken, the members of the Fellowship returned and everything returned to normal (or as close to normal as the Metaverse gets). Several witnesses to the joke were shocked at the cha...
The Metaverse was shocked today to learn that Theoden of Rohan, a Councilmember in the Fellowship of the Ring empire, had decided to strike out on his own and find his own way. Sources close to the Fellowship say Theoden had been planning a departure for a while, but did so under extreme regrets. It has been learned that Theoden obtained colony materials from the Fellowship in order to spread the ideals of the One Ring to all the galaxy. In a farewell message to Theoden, Emperor Ray the Wanderer...
What a long, strange trip it's been. This line from a famous Grateful Dead song sums up the Metaverse very well. Several empires whose presence in the Metaverse has almost been taken for granted have seen some huge changes. One of the biggest changes to take place has been the disappearance of the ANZAC Republic. This empire has been around for a long time, but has been shaken so many times by defections, that Emperor BlueSteel decided to disband the empire. The fate of the ANZAC Republic had b...
The Metaverse has witnessed some strange events in the past several days. The number one player in the Metaverse has changed her name yet again and is now known as Forsooth! Cupids rarely miss . Formerly known as Cotal and Amidala, Forsooth! Cupids rarely miss has created her own empire, known as Serendipity. An Invite Only empire, Serendipity is now at eleventh place. Many have wondered what Cotal/Amidala/Forsooth!'s intentions have been. Though she hasn't communicated with anyone in several d...
A Special Report From the Metaverse Review In another dramatic turn of events involving the first place player in the Metaverse, including another name change, the empire standings flip-flopped again today. Her arrival, along with Monkson, has vaulted the Special Forces into second place, narrowly passing Jedi...
Various empires are now attempting to breathe new life into the Metaverse. Sensing a feeling of stagnation with the current situation, many have begun to employ new strategies to liven up the community. These efforts have thus far remained unseen and discreet. Over the weekend, nothing happened. This is not to say that there was nothing that occured, merely that no astonishing changes occured which would lead the Metaverse to shudder and quake. It appears that the empires of the Metaverse have found some balance and have maintained status quo for the past couple of days. Upon further reflection, there were a couple of notable changes which did happen over the weekend. First, the Special Forces empire, which currently resides in second place overall, ...
In an incredible series of events and frantic battles, the overlords of Special Forces claimed first place, stripping the Fellowship of the Ring of the top spot in the Metaverse. As the protectors of the One Ring watched, the banner of Special Forces, which now resembles a nuclear detonation overlaid with the letters SF and a sword, was raised at the top of the Empires board. Attempts by Fellowship warriors to retake the ground has thus far met with failure, however they swear to continue the b...
Ginata el bohemio, the incredible overlord from Special Forces, became the first player to reach one million points by a single player. This incredible feat at one time seemed impossible, but Ginata's dedication, skill, and tenacity has allowed her to reach a level not seen by anyone in the Metaverse. Accolades and congratulations went out to her immediately in recognition of her acheivement. Her contributions have helped Special Forces contend for first place in the Metaverse and the fight ...
Warfare between any two entities is devastating, but when two tremendous powers engage in hostilities the terror is incredible. The top empires in the Metaverse met on the battlefield over the last several days, exchanging massive attacks. The Fellowship of the Ring fell to second for the first time in ages, not once but twice! The aggressor, Special Forces, launched a major offensive dealing the Fellowship substantial losses before a counterattack regained the lost ground. Though this battle i...
It is a time of unprecedented chaos in the Metaverse. Conflict has erupted everywhere and the thirst for victory has engulfed almost everyone. The Jedi Republic, in what can only be considered the most hawkish behavior ever, declared war on the European Alliance. This move was considered by many to be unprovoked, but it has been learned the Jedi were merely executing a pre-emptive strike guarding against any future hostilities from the Euros. After an initial victory by the Euros, which moved p...
Peace talks between the Jedi Republic and European Alliance seem to be producing results as a peace measure is currently being debated in the Euro Senate. The olive branch was offered to the Euros by Jedi Councilman Arcilte stating "The Council throws its full weight behind a Peace Treaty. The Darkside clouded our vision and influenced our actions for war. I hope that we can look to the future... a future of peace and prosperity for both our empires." With this eloquently versed message, hundred...
Not really an article this time, just some well wishes for the coming new year. The year 2003 brought us many things, some good and some bad. Though I haven't tried it, this year brought the bomb known as Master of Orion III. Many might say that was a terrible event for the gaming world, but in fact, it was a blessing in disguise! Those disgruntled MOO players learned of a fantastic game from a little company named Stardock. For many of us, the release of Galactic Civilizations has been this yea...
